Stewart Prince Charles Edward Ancient heavyweight Tartan is a bright orange and green-based tartan with blue, yellow, black and white overchecks. Woven using 100% Scottish Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, upholstery and crafts. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.

Although there are many Tartans in existence that were worn by Prince Charles Edward Stewart, the most commonly accepted Tartan associated with the Prince that is similar to the Royal Stewart, but with a much smaller section of Red ground, This Tartan was worn by the Prince at the Bell In HoIyrood House during his occupation of Edinburgh In 1745. Prince Charles was born on the 31st December 1720, the son of King James VIII of Scotland and II of England. His mother was Polish. After failing to restore the House of Stuart to the Throne, he left Scotland and eventually died on the 30th of January 1788. His funeral took place in Frescati in Italy and was conducted by his brother, the Cardinal Duke of York.
