Murray of Atholl Ancient Heavyweight Tartan is a bright green-based tartan with shades of blue and a red overcheck.

In 1606 the 12th Chief of Tullibardine became an Earl and his son became Earl of Atholl in 1629. The Marquess of Tullibardine led a contingent of Murrays to the standard of Prince Charles, and Lord George Murray became the leading general of the Jacobite army. The Murrays were powerful and had many important branches.
